The announcement of their dismissal took place during a parade at the Oyo State Police Command, Eleyele, Ibadan.

CP Hamzat, in a statement provided to journalists, clarified that the removal of the two constables was in response to a recommendation for an orderly room investigation.

However, in a circulating online video, the dismissed officers claimed that they had not received any remuneration or salary from the government since they joined the force three years ago.

Expressing their grievances in a mix of English and Yoruba languages, the former police officers disclosed that they were also unpaid after their dismissal.

They shared that their survival depended on begging for money along the roadside, which they used to support themselves, their children, and their wives.

Their statement included, “I served for three years and three months. They did not give us any salary. They never gave us anything. Even after the dismissal, we were not paid at all.

It is when we go to the roadside that we get money from what people give us. This is what we share and use to feed ourselves, our children, and our wives.”
