Four Officers Set For Promotion After Rejecting N8.5 Million Bribe From Suspected Bandit

Led by their commitment to upholding the values of the Nigeria Police Force and combating corruption, these officers, during a routine stop and search operation, apprehended the suspected bandit and steadfastly declined the hefty bribe offered to them.
Taraba State Commissioner of Police, David Iloyalonomo, personally commended and rewarded the officers at the Taraba State Police Command Headquarters for their remarkable display of integrity and dedication to duty.
Speaking to journalists at the checkpoint, Officer Ngamarju Gambo expressed the team’s conviction in combating corruption and maintaining peace, underscoring that corrupt practices have no place within the ranks of the police force.
Impressed by their actions, Iloyalonomo pledged to recommend the officers to Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, for promotion and national recognition, acknowledging their exceptional service to the nation.
The four mobile police officers identified as Inspr Difference Tih AP/NO 362424, Inspr Ngamarju Gambo AP/NO 362385, Inspr Usman Haruna AP/NO 246517, and Cpl Zarudeen Mamuda F/NO 517199 showcased exemplary professionalism and courage during the operation.
Their interception of a suspicious vehicle, subsequent arrest of the suspect, and refusal of the bribe have not only demonstrated their commitment to law enforcement but have also contributed to ongoing investigations into past kidnappings and criminal activities.
As the investigations progress, the suspect and his associates are expected to face charges for multiple offences, including kidnapping, banditry, and attempting to bribe law enforcement officers.
The commendable actions of these officers serve as a testament to the integrity and dedication of the Nigeria Police Force in upholding the rule of law and ensuring the safety and security of all citizens.
