Dollar Vs Naira: Today’s Exchange Rate – January 26, 2026
According to reports, the dollar to naira exchange rate in the Lagos black market, also known as the parallel market, stood at ₦1,490 for sales and ₦1,482 for purchases on Sunday, January 25, 2026. Bureau de Change operators in Lagos provided the figures, highlighting the continued activity in the unofficial forex market despite Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) regulations.
The CBN does not recognize parallel market trading and has consistently advised individuals to conduct foreign exchange transactions through authorized banks. At the official CBN rate, the dollar was valued between ₦1,420 and ₦1,423, reflecting a notable difference from black market rates. Observers note that exchange rates may fluctuate daily, and actual rates may vary depending on the point of transaction.
