Barely days after controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, was remanded in custody over a nine-count criminal charge, his first wife, Omobewaji, has welcomed a new baby.

According to Ireporter Online, the singer was arraigned on Monday, January 12, 2026, before a Federal High Court sitting in Ogun State. During the proceedings, the presiding judge declined to grant him bail, citing the absence of the police officer allegedly assaulted by the artiste, who was expected to appear in court.

Following the development, Portable was ordered to remain in custody, with the court adjourning his bail hearing to January 19, 2026.

Meanwhile, Omobewaji reportedly gave birth to a baby while the singer remains behind bars. Sources disclosed that Portable has since been informed of the arrival of his child and received the news with excitement. It was further gathered that the singer is eagerly awaiting his bail hearing, hopeful of reuniting with his newborn for the first time.

Portable’s legal troubles reportedly stemmed from a domestic dispute involving one of his wives, Ashabi Simple, during which he allegedly assaulted a police officer, an incident that led to his arrest and subsequent arraignment.
