Edo PDP Making A mockery Of Election Petitions, Deceiving Members On The Reality Before Them – Aisowieren

Chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC and Representative of Edo State on the board of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC Rt. Hon. Patrick Aisowieren has expressed his views on the ongoing election petition tribunal arising from the outcome of the Edo State 2024 gubernatorial election where the People’s Democratic Party, PDP is challenging the outcome.

Speaking with supporters who graced his Abuja residence after participating in a series of hearings, Aisowieren expressed shock at the emptiness of PDP’s petition, the hollowness of her evidence and the lack of viable witnesses.

“Beyond party affiliation, I am a serial election contestant and I have been on the ballot at every election cycle until the 2023 general election. Of the multiple times I have contested elections, my victory has been challenged at the tribunal four times where my elections were affirmed by the courts.

“In my years of being a respondent in election petitions and following several other cases, I have never seen a case as weak, evidence as hollow and witnesses as unreliable as that of Dr Asue Ighodalo and the Edo PDP. If in his shoes, as an experienced politician, I will call it off and focus on other productive ventures.

“This is not to preempt the court, but a clear vision born of experience with election petition matters. It is said in law that you don’t put something on nothing and expect it to stand because the court is not a Father Christmas. The case of Ighodalo appears to me as putting something on nothing and expecting a miracle.”

The politician expressed surprise at the use of the media to turn facts on its head whereas the proceedings in court point to a hopeless end. He admonished unsuspecting members of the public to brace up for Senator Monday Okpebholo’s four-year term in the first instance and plan their lives in sink with a rising Edo that will benefit all and sundry no matter the different political inclinations.
