Minister of Regional Development, Abubakar Momoh Engages Staff In Interactive Town Hall Meeting(Video)
Abuja– The Ministry of Regional Development held a crucial town hall meeting on Friday, setting the stage for staff engagement and productivity in the new year. The session, which began at approximately 11 AM, was led by the Minister of Regional Development, Engr. Abubakar Momoh, FNSE, alongside the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Tinuke Watti.
The atmosphere was one of anticipation as the Minister opened the dialogue by appreciating the staff for their dedication and contributions over the past year. He underscored the importance of effective communication within the ministry, warning against the dangers of rumor-mongering, which he said can erode morale and slow down progress.
“If you ever need clarity, my doors are always open. And even when I’m away, my aides are here to provide the right information,” the Minister assured.
The engagement quickly transitioned into an interactive session where staff raised concerns on issues ranging from welfare and professional growth to work conditions. In response, the Minister provided assurances that efforts were already in motion to enhance office spaces and provide necessary work tools to improve productivity.
Permanent Secretary Mrs. Tinuke Watti also took the opportunity to remind employees of the importance of adhering to civil service rules while encouraging open and constructive dialogue.
“This is your platform. Your voices matter. But let’s engage constructively,” she stated.
The town hall meeting ended on a high note, with staff expressing a renewed sense of belonging and commitment to the ministry’s vision. The session reinforced transparency, efficiency, and accountability as key pillars for fostering a more dynamic and responsive workforce.
This proactive engagement highlights the Ministry’s ongoing commitment to building a motivated and results-driven workforce as it advances regional development initiatives across the country.
