The Bible tells us, “Blessed are those who dwell in your house; they are ever praising you” (Psalm 84:4). This timeless truth was evident on Sunday at the Assemblies of God Church in Dumez, where the congregation gathered to worship and seek blessings in the house of God.
Among those present was Olumide Osaigbovo Akpata, a household name not just for his political aspirations but for his genuine commitment to faith and service. The church service was marked by heartfelt hymns, fervent prayers, and a palpable sense of unity as everyone, regardless of their background, joined in worship.
The Labour Party flagbearer, Akpata, took the opportunity to engage with the church members, listening to their concerns and discussing possible solutions. He also revealed the reason behind his decision to run for governor. “You are not doing well if people around you can’t buy Garri. It’s just a matter of time before they enter your house. So I said to myself, let me come out of my comfort zone and help my people,” he stressed.
As seen in the video below, his words struck a chord with the congregation, who were indeed pleased to have him worshipping with them. Akpata’s visit to the Assemblies of God Church in Dumez highlights his dedication to Edo State and his commitment to connecting with Edolites on a personal and spiritual level.
