Eko Club Has Achieved Remarkable Progress Since Establishment

Eko Club has been lauded by the founding Elders Forum of the club for its effort in promoting social, cultural and intellectual growth.

The Elders Forum said its dynamic programmes had nurtured talents and celebrated the city’s diversity, for future generations.

Former Honourable Justice Ibrahim Olorunnimbe said this during the Founder’s/Elders Day celebration to mark the ongoing activities of the 50 years anniversary celebration of the club.

He said the club was created to assist the people of Eko to promote and preserve their culture, alleviate poverty, contribute towards social development of Eko and promote healthy living.

He hailed the club’s sense of patriotism, noting that this was responsible for the development and growth experienced in the club.

Justice Olorunnimbe urged the club to invest more in education to make more impact.

The Chairman, Board of Trustees of the club, Mabinuori Gbajumo, went down memory lane, recalling how the club was formed, especially its vision and mission.

He said: “From inception, Eko Club has been destined to be great. I thank God today that the aim and vision of the founding fathers have come to fruition.’’

In his goodwill message, Secretary to the Lagos State Government, ‘Bimbola Salu-Hundeyin,  represented by Mr Kehinde Gbajumo, congratulated  Eko Club on its 50th anniversary and achievements.

She enjoined the club not to relent.

Club President Razak Amodu said the club had contributed to the cultural tapestry of Lagos State through its empowerment programmes.
