Ethiopian Tragedy: 28 Killed, Bus Dives Into River In Deadly Accident!
At least 28 people have been confirmed dead, and 19 others sustained serious injuries after a bus veered off the road and plunged into a river in southern Ethiopia on Wednesday, local officials reported.
The accident took place in the Wolaita region, approximately 400 kilometers (250 miles) from the capital, Addis Ababa.
Local authorities revealed that the bus swerved down a steep slope before crashing, causing significant damage. The roof of the bus was torn off on impact, leaving the vehicle severely wrecked.
Rescue teams are still working at the site to determine the total number of passengers on board during the crash, with search and recovery operations ongoing.
Photos circulating on social media depict the shattered bus submerged in the river. The cause of the accident is yet to be established, but authorities are continuing their efforts to recover more victims from the scene.
