Fans Revolt? Burna Boy Forced To Cut Tour Short As Ticket Sales Crash
According to Ireporter Online, Nigerian Afrobeat icon Burna Boy has withdrawn five arena dates from his ongoing ‘NSOW Tour’ following a noticeable drop in ticket sales across several locations. The decline reportedly intensified after a viral video showed the singer ordering some concertgoers out of his show for allegedly “sleeping” during his performance.
The footage sparked widespread reactions online, with many social media users criticising the Grammy-winning artiste for what they considered an insensitive approach toward his fans. Industry observers suggest that the backlash significantly dampened interest in upcoming tour dates, prompting Burna Boy’s management to make quiet adjustments to the tour schedule.
During a recent performance in Dallas, the superstar addressed the controversy, acknowledging the negative effect the incident had on his tour. Burna Boy apologised to fans, noting that even his merchandise sales had been affected. He said, “I know my ticket sales are suffering since that incident. Even the coffee I introduced no one is buying. So please, I am sorry to everyone and everything I said. It was a slip of tongue.”
In another development, celebrated Nigerian rapper Olamide Baddo has cleared the air regarding speculations about his personality. According to Ireporter Online, Olamide stated during an appearance on the ‘Ada’s Room’ podcast that contrary to popular belief, he is not shy but simply laid back. He said, “One thing I wish people could understand about me is I am not shy, I am just laid back.”
