Fave Speaks Out After Ramadan Concert Disruption

According to Ireporter Online, Afrobeats singer Fave has voiced her disappointment over reports that music events are allegedly restricted in Nigeria during the Islamic Ramadan period, disrupting her plans to host a birthday concert.

The singer took to X to reveal that concert promoters have reportedly declined her proposed show, citing Ramadan restrictions, despite Fave being a Christian. She had planned to hold the event on her birthday, March 13.

Fave emphasised her respect for Ramadan practices but questioned the supposed impact on her business, noting that she was not aware of such restrictions while growing up in southern Nigeria. In her posts, she stated, “I started this year wanting to do my first show in Nigeria on my birthday as an independent artiste, and back to back, promoters kept sending word to my team saying the same thing. I grew up in the south and never heard of Ramadan practices till I was in my late teens. I respect all religions. But I’m Christian, and I really want to do this on my birthday, so if you’re reading this and are open to organizing, I’d be so happy.”
