State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the attack, revealing that the hoodlums used Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) during the assault. Fortunately, no firearms were stolen, and no police personnel were abducted during the incident.

Ikenga reassured the public that police operatives overpowered the assailants, prompting them to flee the scene. He assured ongoing tactical operations to ensure public safety and vowed to provide further updates on the situation.

Contradictory Reports on Okuama Incident

Amidst these developments, conflicting reports emerged regarding an alleged military invasion of Gbaregolor community in Delta State. President-General Samson O. Egayomake refuted claims of soldiers attacking the community and setting houses on fire, emphasizing the reliance of Gbaregolor on divine protection.

Egayomake clarified that while soldiers did harass individuals in the locality, the community remained untouched by the alleged invasion. He criticized the lack of investigation into the Okuama ambush, where 17 soldiers lost their lives, urging fairness in addressing the situation.

Meanwhile, Elder statesman Pa Edwin Clark condemned the military invasion of his country home in Kiagbodo and his father’s home in Ughelli South LGA. The invasion was reportedly linked to allegations of harboring suspects involved in the killing of 17 military personnel in Okuama. Despite the intrusion, Clark forgave the military after receiving an apology from one of their commanders.

Clark denounced the barbaric murder in Okuama, calling for justice against the perpetrators. These conflicting reports highlight the complexity of security challenges and the importance of thorough investigation and fair treatment in addressing such incidents.
