Firefighters Attacked During Rescue Operation in Ilorin
Firefighters in Kwara State were assaulted by a mob while responding to a fire emergency on Saturday in Ilorin. The incident occurred at Adeta Roundabout, where a Ministry of Environment bus was ablaze.
According to a statement by the Fire Service spokesman, Hassan Adekunle, the attack disrupted the rescue effort and caused damage to the fire truck’s windshield. Fortunately, no personnel were injured.
Director of the Kwara State Fire Service, Prince Falade John Olumuyiwa, condemned the attack and appealed to residents to remain peaceful and support emergency services. He reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to protecting lives and property.
