In his statement issued in Abuja, Lukman stressed that the engagement with the political challenges facing the APC should not be limited to the bribery allegation against Ganduje. He urged Tinubu and top APC leaders to view this as an opportunity to renew the party’s presence in Kano State, the North West, and the entire North.
Acknowledging Kwankwaso’s significant support base in Kano State and his previous affiliation with the APC, Lukman emphasized the importance of revisiting the issues surrounding the disagreement between Kwankwaso and Ganduje. He suggested that if necessary, another round of negotiations for a political alliance or merger should be pursued with Kwankwaso and the NNPP.
Lukman highlighted the opportunity for Tinubu to demonstrate his progressive and political prowess in managing the situation. He emphasized the need to recruit new actors like Kwankwaso into the APC, emphasizing principles and commitment to democracy.
Additionally, Lukman urged Tinubu to correct the political imbalance by returning the North Central to the mainstream leadership and renewing the APC’s founding vision of progressive politics. He expressed confidence in Tinubu and APC leaders to take the necessary steps to revitalize the party and address political challenges effectively.
