Popular Nigerian television personality Frank Edoho has shared a humorous experience involving his son’s informal way of addressing him, noting that changing attitudes among younger generations have affected how children communicate with their parents.

According to Ireporter Online, Edoho spoke about the experience during an appearance on the Eden Oasis YouTube channel on Monday, August 3, 2026, where he discussed parenting, family values, and the differences between his generation and today’s youths.

The former host of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire explained that his son, who belongs to the Gen Z generation, sometimes uses casual expressions such as “dude” when speaking to him. He noted that such a manner of addressing parents would have been considered unacceptable during his own upbringing.

Edoho revealed that he often corrects his son whenever he uses the term, although the exchanges usually happen in a playful and humorous manner. He added that the conversations sometimes end with his son asking him for financial support, making the situation even more amusing.

The media personality said the interaction reflects the changing dynamics between parents and children, explaining that young people today have a more relaxed approach to communication compared to previous generations.

He recalled that addressing his own father with such an informal expression while growing up would have resulted in a serious reaction, highlighting the stricter approach to parental respect during his childhood.

Edoho’s comments have sparked conversations among fans about modern parenting styles, generational differences, and how family relationships continue to evolve over time.
