All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Joe Igbokwe, has applauded the ruling of a Finnish District Court that sentenced separatist agitator, Simon Ekpa, to six years in prison.

On Monday, September 1, 2025, the court convicted Ekpa on terrorism-related charges, a decision that has drawn mixed reactions from stakeholders and the federal government, many of whom blame him for fueling unrest in the South East.

Reacting in a Facebook post on Tuesday, Igbokwe stated that after completing his jail term in Finland, Ekpa would be deported to Nigeria to face terrorism charges.

He wrote: “The pains of what we lost in the South East over the past 10 years will go round. The findings and those involved will shock the world. The most interesting part of the judgment is that Simon Ekpa will be deported after serving six years in a Finnish prison to face terrorism charges in Nigeria.”

The APC stalwart further prayed for justice over the October 3, 2021 invasion and burning of the “City of David” in Nnewi, which he attributed to agitators acting under the guise of a “non-existent Biafraud.”
