According to Ireporter Online, Galatasaray SK are anxiously monitoring the fitness of Victor Osimhen and Mauro Icardi ahead of their crucial UEFA Champions League play-off second leg against Juventus FC in Turin.

The Turkish champions arrive at the Allianz Stadium on Wednesday night with a commanding 5-2 advantage from the first leg in Istanbul. Despite this substantial lead, attention has turned to the club’s injury concerns.

Osimhen missed Saturday’s surprising 2-0 league defeat to Konyaspor due to a minor knee issue. An update on Galatasaray’s official website confirmed that the Nigerian international undertook individual gym training on Sunday as part of his recovery program. The 27-year-old has been pivotal to Galatasaray’s European campaign this season, contributing two assists against Juventus in the first leg and recording six goals and two assists in seven Champions League appearances. His pace and movement posed significant challenges for the Italian side last week, and his potential absence could have a major impact.

Icardi also faces uncertainty. The Argentine striker started against Konyaspor but was substituted after 45 minutes, reportedly due to back pain. Italian reports suggest the 32-year-old’s availability for the return fixture is in doubt.

Galatasaray head coach Okan Buruk must carefully consider his options. While the five-goal cushion offers a strong advantage, traveling without either leading forward could change the dynamic of the contest. Juventus would face a near-impossible task to overturn the deficit, but the possible absence of Osimhen and Icardi provides a glimmer of hope for the Serie A side.

Both players have extensive experience in Turin. Osimhen previously starred with Napoli, while Icardi enjoyed prolific periods in Serie A. Their expertise has been instrumental in Galatasaray’s resurgence on the European stage this season.

The weekend league setback adds further pressure domestically, as Galatasaray’s defeat allowed rivals Fenerbahçe SK to narrow the gap in the title race, making the coming fixtures significant on multiple fronts.
