Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji has reinstated former Commissioner for Information, Mr. Taiwo Olatunbosun, back into the State Executive Council.

This development comes just a week after the governor dissolved his cabinet in an effort to refresh the government’s leadership.

According to iReporter Online, the recall was confirmed through a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Yinka Oyebode, issued on Tuesday in Ado-Ekiti.

The recall letter, signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Habaibat Adubiaro, dated August 18, stated that Olatunbosun would continue serving as Commissioner for Information with immediate effect.

According to iReporter Online, this move follows the earlier cabinet dissolution on August 11, when Governor Oyebanji directed commissioners and special advisers to hand over their responsibilities to permanent secretaries or the most senior civil servants in their respective ministries.

Notably, six commissioners, including those overseeing Finance, Works, and Human Capital Development, were retained to ensure continuity in critical sectors, as part of the governor’s strategy to inject new energy into governance and uphold his “shared prosperity” agenda.
