In the wake of a promising new year, I, Honourable Abubakar Momoh – FNSE, the Niger Delta Development Minister, extend my heartfelt wishes to all Nigerians as we embark on the journey of 2024.

I commend the resilient spirit and unwavering resolve exhibited by citizens across our nation amidst the challenges encountered in the past year. Under the visionary leadership of President Bola Tinubu, I remain steadfast in the administration’s commitment to the ‘Renewed Hope Agenda,’ foreseeing a more prosperous future for our dear nation.

Our initiatives within the Niger Delta Development Ministry are strategically designed to foster holistic development. Key among these are comprehensive projects aimed at advancing sustainable infrastructural growth, economic diversification, and environmental preservation which include :

Road Construction: Implementation of extensive projects to improve transportation networks, fostering connectivity and accessibility within the region.

We will continue to insist on the quick delivery of East – West road under the supervision of the ministry of works.

Electricity Supply: Expanding and upgrading electricity infrastructure to ensure consistent and reliable power supply through renewable source across Niger Delta communities in order to decarbonise our environment.

Education: Overhauling educational institutions, by engaging in building infrastructure and modern equipment in schools across Niger Delta  region to facilitate improved access to quality education.

Environment: Implementing eco-friendly initiatives by preserving  natural resources, and combating pollution for sustainable environmental preservation in collaboration with Hydrocarbon Pollution and Remediation Project (HYPREP) agency.

Agriculture: Supporting agricultural development by introducing modern farming equipment  to boost food production and ensure food security in collaboration with ministry of agriculture.

Training and Empowerment: Introducing skill acquisition programs and empowerment initiatives to equip youths and women  with valuable skills and opportunities.

ICT: Fostering ICT adoption, promoting digital literacy, and leveraging technology for regional development initiatives.

These transformative endeavors are pivotal to our region’s advancement and prosperity. I urge stakeholders’ collaboration and support, emphasizing the imperative need for collective efforts to drive the development agenda, ensuring a brighter future for the Niger Delta.
