Hope Rising: Minister Promises Results From Tinubu’s Policies
Dr. Iziaq Salako, the Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, has reassured Nigerians that the various reform initiatives introduced by President Bola Tinubu will soon provide relief to the populace…READ MORE…
Salako urged citizens to be patient as the administration works to tackle the nation’s challenges.
He made these remarks on Tuesday during an event at Omidokun Hall in Ayetoro, where subsidy removal palliatives and free medical services were distributed, serving Yewa North Local Government Area.
He highlighted that the distribution of rice and fertilizers was part of the government’s efforts to address the food crisis, expressing optimism that the current economic difficulties will soon be alleviated.
Additionally, Salako mentioned that the medical outreach aimed to provide essential health checkups and medications to the local community.
In total, 1,300 bags of rice were allocated to five local government areas within the Ogun West Senatorial District, benefiting party members, leaders, market women, religious organizations, traditional rulers, community leaders, and farmers.
He noted, “We have 1,300 bags of rice and 600 bags of fertilizer available. Our party members will receive 30 percent of the palliatives, while market women, coordinated by the Iyaloja, will also benefit. The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and Muslim communities will not be overlooked.
Furthermore, we will reach out to individual leaders in the five LGs, including our traditional rulers and Baales, ensuring that representatives of these groups are present to receive the items.
This approach has been adopted to prevent stampedes that have occurred during similar distributions elsewhere in the country.
We have organized the distribution so that items meant for each group have been loaded into separate, clearly labeled vehicles, with the recipients properly introduced to the drivers. This system aims to maintain order during the distribution.
In response to President Bola Tinubu’s Christmas message, Salako stated, “The President wishes everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year in advance. He encourages all to be joyful while also prioritizing safety and security. Mr. President urges Nigerians to pray for the country.
He confidently stated that things are improving and will continue to get better. He believes that all of the reforms he has implemented will lead to a better quality of life for Nigerians in the near future.
