Reno Omokri, a former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan and bestselling author, has accused Rufai Oseni, co-host of Arise TV’s morning show, of spreading false information regarding President Bola Tinubu’s educational background.
According to Omokri, Oseni claimed that Chicago State University had denied that Tinubu attended the institution, but Omokri insisted that this was a lie.

Omokri stated that Chicago State University had confirmed Tinubu’s academic records in an affidavit dated August 23, 2023, upholding his status as a former student and graduate of the university. He also mentioned that The Vanguard newspaper, the source cited by Oseni, never reported the information attributed to it.
Furthermore, Omokri pointed out that neither Arise TV nor Oseni had issued a correction or clarification regarding this misinformation. He noted that several Nigerians had shared documents from Chicago State University confirming Tinubu’s attendance and graduation from the institution.
The controversy over President Tinubu’s educational background has been a subject of debate in Nigerian politics, with various claims and counterclaims regarding his academic qualifications.
