How I Met My Husband – Wife Of Suspended Catholic Priest Shares Testimony

Dora Chichah, the wife of Rev. Fr. Daniel Okanatotor Oghenerukevwe, a Catholic priest suspended by the Diocese of Warri, Delta State, has recounted how she met her husband and their journey to marriage…READ MORE…

PUNCH Online reports that Rev. Fr. Oghenerukevwe was suspended for allegedly entering into a secret marriage in the United States without completing the formal process of being released from his priestly vows.

According to the Diocese, the priest had requested to be released from his canonical obligations on November 30, 2024. However, he reportedly married without fulfilling the necessary requirements. Photos of the wedding, held in Dallas, Texas, have since gone viral.

During a live testimony session at Pastor Jerry Eze’s Streams of Joy International Church in Dallas, Dora shared her experience.

In a video reposted on Monday by Catholic missionary priest Fr. Kelvin Ugwu, Dora introduced herself as a single mother of three who had been praying for a husband for over nine years.

“What God cannot do does not exist. My name is Dora, and I’m sharing my testimony from Streams of Joy, Dallas,” she began.

Dora revealed that she had been persistently praying for divine intervention since 2020. “I kept praying, believing God for a life partner. I said, ‘God, settle me.’”

In 2021, during a service, Pastor Jerry Eze prophesied about women finding their spouses. Dora took the message to heart, dancing and praying fervently.

By 2024, she felt a divine instruction to relocate to Dallas, Texas. It was there she reconnected with Daniel, a childhood acquaintance.

“We quickly exchanged contact details. Daniel shared how he had been praying for four years for clarity about his vocation. He told me he had been fasting for three months, asking God for the right partner. I had been praying too,” Dora recounted.

The relationship progressed rapidly, and within three months, the couple completed marriage classes, held a traditional wedding, a court ceremony, and a white wedding at Streams of Joy, Dallas.

While Dora did not address her husband’s status as a Catholic priest, the testimony video featured wedding photos of the couple.

In defense of the marriage, a woman claiming to be Daniel’s biological sister, Mary Okanatotor, stated on social media that her brother had informed the Diocese of his decision.

“He did not marry in secret. He wrote to the Diocese about his intentions,” Mary asserted.

The incident has sparked discussions about priestly obligations and personal choices, drawing widespread attention both within and outside the Catholic community.
