In Delta, Kwankwaso Welcomes More Than 100 Defectors
The presidential candidate of the New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP), Dr. Rabi’u Kwankwaso, yesterday, received hundreds of All Progressive Congress (APC) decampees in Warri, Delta State. The former Kano State Governor who was on a working visit to the state, also commissioned the secretariat and campaign office of the Delta South senatorial candidate of the NNPP, Commodore Omatseye Nesiama (rtd).
Earlier, hundreds of NNPP supporters led by the former Nigerian Navy officer, Nesiama, had defied rainfall and embarked on a sensitization rally across major routes in Warri metropolis. The rally which was tagged “hope walk”, covered McDermott Junction, Deco Junction, Okumagba Avenue, Okere market and Odion Road. Speaking with newsmen, the Delta South NNPP candidate reechoed calls for collection of Permanent Voters Card (PVCs) by the electorate.

He stressed that the PVC is the only acceptable means that the electorate can use to vote for their choice candidate. “The movement this morning was to sensitize the people about the need for them, having registered, to pick up their PVCs. Because, without the PVC, you do not have any right. You have forfeited your rights to decide on who actually needs you. I want to encourage them, just like the zeal that they came up during the registration exercise, that zeal again should be rekindled to the collection of PVCs,” Nesiama stated.
Noting that the election is not a “do or die” affair, Commodore Nesiama said remarked that the masses hopes have been “rekindled by the presence of people like us in the race”. He commended the party’s Presidential flagbearer for commissioning the secretariat, adding that, “it means he values whatever we are doing here”.
