IPMAN Breaks Silence On Fuel Price Trends, Delivers Crucial Information To The Public
The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has advised the public to dismiss rumors suggesting an imminent increase in petrol prices. Mr. Chinedu Anyaso, the Chairman of IPMAN’s Enugu Depot….CONTINUE READING
issued the caution in Awka, Anambra state, over the weekend, emphasizing that the speculations of a potential petrol price hike are merely unfounded social media stories.
Anyaso clarified that the Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), the exclusive importer of petrol, has not communicated any intentions to raise petrol prices to IPMAN. Consequently, he urged the public to disregard the rumors and refrain from panic buying.
Contrary to certain reports, Anyaso affirmed that there are currently no plans to raise the price of petrol in the country.
He suggested that the panic among consumers might stem from calculations related to the declining value of the naira against the dollar.
The IPMAN leader expressed optimism regarding the forthcoming operations of the Port Harcourt refinery and the Dangote refinery, anticipating a positive impact on petrol prices in the country.
Anyaso stated, “If there is any refined product, we will know because we are the middlemen that buy and sell to end users. I strongly believe that Dangote refinery with its capacity of 650,000 barrels per day will help to bring down the price of fuel in the country.”
Assuring the public of an ample supply of petroleum products to marketers at various depots by the NNPCL, Anyaso urged Nigerians to ignore speculations and avoid engaging in panic buying.
