If you are not in Kwara State, Ilorin to be precise then you are surely missing out, as we speak the Ilorin Emirate is hosting one of the biggest traditional and cultural events of the year, the Turbaning Of Mallam Saliu Mustapha as the next Turaki of Ilorin.

The Ilorin Emirate is not leaving any stone unturned in hosting the world, the event started yesterday 20th October with a novelty match and the final Turakin Geri Football Competition which was held at the Kwara State Stadium. It was indeed grand.

The rich cultural display of the festivals would continue till Sunday. The main event is scheduled for Friday 22nd October when His Royal Highness, The Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Dr Sulu Ibrahim Gambari , CFR would perform the royal turbaning at the Ilorin palace.

Everybody is at Ilorin please make your way there, it is better witnessed than imagined, am sure you would not want to miss the Turaki Horse procession and other beautiful displays of culture.
