It Was Not A Fight – More VIDEOS Show How DSS Treated Prison Official Like A Thief Caught Red-handed (WATCH)

On Tuesday, there was a dispute between officials of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS) and operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) over the custody of the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele.

The clash occurred after Justice Nicholas Oweibo of the Federal High Court in Lagos granted Emefiele bail in the sum of N20 million and ordered that he be remanded at the correctional center until the bail conditions were fulfilled.

Following the court ruling, DSS operatives positioned their Hilux Pick Up van, which was used to bring Emefiele to court, in a way that suggested they intended to take him back to their detention center. Emefiele’s lead counsel, Joseph Daudu, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), and other lawyers raised concerns about the secret police’s planned re-arrest of their client.

During the confrontation, Emefiele’s lawyers reluctantly allowed the DSS to take custody of their client to avoid a gun battle.

The prison officials then left the court in their vehicle, and the DSS assumed control of Emefiele’s custody.
