According to Festus Okoye, National Commissioner of INEC, the Commission has suspended the collation of results in Obingwa LGA of Abia State after its office was invaded by thugs on Sunday. Similarly, results from Enugu State’s Nkanu East and Nsukka LGAs have been postponed for further review.
Mrs. Rebecca Jim, the Head of Voter Education and Publicity, told Channels Television on Tuesday that the collation would resume on Wednesday.
She stated that the Presiding Officer and Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology Owerri, FUTO, Professor Nnenna Oti, and the State Administrative Secretary, Clement Oha, who were summoned to the INEC headquarters in Abuja over the Obingwa results controversy, were on their way back to the state to finish the process.
