Just In: Vice-President Shettima Urges Investors To Explore Nigeria’s Non-Oil Sector Opportunities (Text)

Vice President Kashim Shettima has called on investors to capitalize on Nigeria’s diverse non-oil sectors, highlighting significant investment returns and aligning with the nation’s development priorities. Speaking at the Existing Foreign Direct Investors Roundtable in Abuja, Shettima emphasized sectors such as agriculture, manufacturing, renewable energy, and digital innovation as pivotal areas for investment.

Shettima underscored the government’s commitment to leveraging targeted incentives and public-private partnerships to unlock the full potential of these sectors, fostering job creation and socio-economic empowerment nationwide. He assured investors of a transparent, accountable business environment with regulatory certainty, stressing the critical role of public-private partnerships in mobilizing resources and sharing expertise to mitigate investment risks.

With the non-oil sector now contributing 93.62% to Nigeria’s GDP in early 2024, Shettima urged stakeholders to seize opportunities beyond oil dependency. He praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration for pro-business reforms aimed at stimulating investment across key sectors and enhancing institutional capacity.
