Abdulaziz Ganduje, the eldest son of former All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje, has returned to the ruling party after spending approximately three months with the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).

According to Ireporter Online, Abdulaziz was formally received back into the APC on Sunday at the Ganduje Ward office in Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area of Kano State.

During the event, he reportedly collected a fresh APC membership card in the presence of party members and supporters, signalling his return to the party.

Abdulaziz had earlier left the APC and joined the NDC in Kano State. During his brief stint with the opposition party, he obtained its nomination form to contest the Dawakin Tofa/Tofa/Rimin Gado Federal Constituency seat in the 2027 general election.

His decision to return to the APC comes amid increasing political activities and realignments ahead of the 2027 elections.

The development also comes shortly after NDC vice-presidential candidate Rabiu Kwankwaso made comments about the political standing of prominent Kano figures, including Abdullahi Ganduje, former Governor Ibrahim Shekarau and incumbent Governor Abba Yusuf.

Kwankwaso had questioned their current political influence in the state while reflecting on the political developments that have shaped Kano in recent years.

Abdulaziz’s return to the APC is expected to generate further discussion about the political realignments taking place in Kano ahead of the 2027 general election
