Governor Abba Yusuf announced the program on Monday at the launch of the 2nd Maternal, Neonatal, and Child Health Week in Kumbotso Local Government Area.

According to a statement from the Governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature, the distribution of computers is a crucial element of the state government’s strategy to modernize healthcare facilities to ensure more efficient service delivery.

The statement also noted that several prominent healthcare institutions, including Sir Muhammadu Sanusi Hospital, Hasiya Bayero Hospital, Nuhu Bamalli Hospital, and the Emergency Unit of Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital, have recently undergone significant renovations.

Governor Yusuf emphasized that these initiatives reflect his administration’s commitment to fostering a supportive environment for frontline healthcare workers and improving access to quality care for the residents of Kano.

In addition to the computer distribution, the Governor announced that solar power systems have been installed at the headquarters of the State Primary Healthcare Management Board and its six zonal offices. This aims to provide a reliable power supply and enhance operational efficiency.

“The efforts are designed to ensure access to quality and affordable healthcare services for the residents of Kano State, regardless of their socio-economic background,” the statement explained.

Yusuf reiterated his administration’s commitment to prioritizing the health sector within its broader development agenda. He assured residents that the government will continue to invest in initiatives aimed at reducing maternal and child mortality rates as well as enhancing overall healthcare delivery.
