According to Ireporter Online, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and governorship aspirant in Niger State, Dr Mohammed Kpautagi, has officially secured his Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms ahead of the upcoming governorship election, pledging to confront insecurity and economic hardship affecting residents of the state.

Kpautagi obtained the forms at the party’s national headquarters in Abuja on Tuesday, an event marked by a large turnout of supporters, party members, youth groups, women associations, and political allies who gathered in solidarity with his ambition.

Speaking after the exercise, the governorship hopeful expressed gratitude to his supporters for their confidence in his leadership, assuring that his administration would prioritise policies aimed at improving the welfare and living conditions of ordinary citizens across Niger State if elected.

He identified insecurity and inadequate access to potable water as major challenges confronting communities in the state, promising urgent and practical interventions to address them.

Kpautagi lamented the worsening security situation, noting that many residents continue to suffer kidnappings and violence, while others struggle daily to access clean water. He stressed that these issues require decisive leadership and immediate government action.

He further pledged that his administration would be anchored on people-focused governance and transparent management of public resources, with the aim of restoring what he described as the lost glory of Niger State.

The event was attended by several party stakeholders, including former lawmakers, ex-deputy speakers, party executives, and other aspirants contesting various positions under the ADC platform.

Kpautagi, who arrived with his wives and close associates, was warmly received by supporters who described his candidacy as a refreshing opportunity for the state’s political future. He previously contested in the 2023 APC governorship primary in Niger State alongside the incumbent governor, Mohammed Umar Bago.
