Pastor Chris Oyakhilome of LoveWorld Nation and actress-turned-evangelist Tonto Dikeh have attracted widespread attention with recent initiatives that have generated significant discussion across social media and the public space.

According to IREPORTERONLINE, the two personalities have recently made headlines for projects that their supporters describe as practical demonstrations of their faith and commitment to societal development.

Oyakhilome sparked reactions after unveiling LoveWorld Nation’s venture into Nigeria’s technology and mobility sector at the New Economy Unveiling (NEU) 2026. The initiative featured a range of electric vehicles under the Tsion brand, including the Tsion Passion, Tsion Falcon, Vision Series and OG Series.

The vehicles reportedly comprise luxury SUVs, sports cars, coupes and convertibles powered by electric technology. The development has generated considerable interest, particularly because of the church’s broader plans involving energy, automobile manufacturing and infrastructure.

The event also featured the introduction of a “wealth liquefaction” initiative focused on converting waste into economic value. Pastor Bolaji Idowu, while reacting to the developments, praised Oyakhilome for demonstrating how religious organisations could contribute solutions beyond traditional ministry activities.

Meanwhile, Dikeh has also attracted attention with initiatives announced through her New Wine Prophetic Tabernacle, amid ongoing discussions about her relatively recent transition into ministry.

The actress-turned-evangelist announced a Church-Building and Support Initiative aimed at renovating churches and providing essential equipment to congregations in need. She said the project was inspired by what she described as instructions from the Holy Spirit rather than personal or human preferences.

Under the initiative, churches are expected to receive support for structural repairs, renovations and the provision of necessary equipment. Dikeh also called on churches requiring assistance to provide details of their needs and estimated costs.

Her activities have drawn both praise and criticism, particularly from those questioning whether her relatively short period of discipleship training was sufficient preparation for establishing a ministry.

However, supporters have pointed to her recent charitable activities as evidence of her commitment to helping people and supporting Christian communities.

Pastor Emmanuel Iren had previously highlighted the financial difficulties faced by many smaller churches and ministers, noting that some struggle to afford basic expenses such as rent. His comments have added context to Dikeh’s decision to support churches that lack sufficient resources.

Beyond church-related assistance, Dikeh’s ministry reportedly paid the hospital bills of children born in Abuja and Port Harcourt on August 22. The initiative also included support for mothers and newborns with essential items intended to assist with early childcare.

The development has further fuelled conversations about Dikeh’s transition from entertainment into Christian ministry and whether her rapid rise should be judged by conventional expectations surrounding pastoral leadership.

The recent activities of both Oyakhilome and Dikeh have also attracted criticism online, with some questioning the expansion of religious organisations into areas such as technology, manufacturing and other commercial ventures.

Despite the controversies, their supporters maintain that the initiatives demonstrate an approach to Christianity that combines evangelism with practical contributions to society.

The developments have ultimately reignited discussions about the role of churches and religious leaders in business, philanthropy, innovation and community development, while also highlighting the intense public scrutiny faced by prominent personalities who venture beyond traditional expectations.
