Mr. Macaroni criticized the insensitivity of the current government, accusing it of living extravagantly at the expense of the citizens who continue to suffer due to its policies.

He made this statement on his X handle on Tuesday in response to attacks by Tinubu’s aides on former President Olusegun Obasanjo. Macaroni emphasized that it is only the people who have experienced the hardships caused by past governments who are entitled to criticize former leaders.

“I don’t care about Nigerian politicians, but it’s the people, not the current government’s spokespersons, who have the right to call out or criticize any government, past or present,” he said. “While politicians waste billions on luxury cars and jets, ordinary Nigerians are struggling in poverty.”

Macaroni expressed that he believes all Nigerian politicians, both past and present, have contributed significantly to the country’s current state. However, he argued that members of the current government, who are inflicting pain on the people, have no moral standing to criticize previous administrations.

“The current government is abusing the people, yet they want to distract us by focusing on past leaders. Those in power now cannot criticize the previous ones when they are guilty of the same wrongs,” Macaroni wrote.

The human rights advocate also condemned citizens who defend politicians for personal gain, despite the negative impact of their policies. He questioned how anyone could defend those who make decisions that benefit themselves while inflicting suffering on the populace.

Macaroni pointed out the stark contrast between the lavish lifestyles of the leaders and the struggles of everyday Nigerians, calling for unity among the people to stand against the politicians responsible for the nation’s worsening governance.
