Mikel Arteta Provides Fitness Update On Bukayo Saka Ahead Of Arsenal Vs Fulham Clash
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has offered a positive update regarding Bukayo Saka’s fitness ahead of the team’s Premier League match against Fulham on Tuesday. Saka, who has been out of action since December following a hamstring injury sustained during a game against Crystal Palace, has made significant progress and is now fully fit to return to competitive play.
During a press conference on Monday morning, Arteta expressed his confidence in Saka’s readiness, stating, “Bukayo is ready to go. We have taken a cautious approach to his recovery, which has proven successful. Now, it’s about reintegrating him into the team at the right moments, but he has been highly motivated and eager to return….READ MORE….
The manager explained that the club has adhered to a carefully structured recovery plan to avoid any setbacks and confirmed that Saka is prepared to rejoin the squad.
When asked about the possibility of Saka starting in the upcoming match against Fulham, Arteta confirmed, “Yes, he is an invaluable asset for us. We all recognize his impact and how vital his contributions are to our success. It’s great to have him back on the pitch.”
However, Arteta also addressed a less favorable development concerning Riccardo Calafiori, who recently sustained a knee injury while representing the Italian national team during the international break. Although Calafiori is expected to be sidelined for several weeks, initial evaluations indicate that the injury is less severe than initially feared. “Riccardo suffered an injury with the national team. Fortunately, it appears to be a matter of weeks, but we will continue to monitor his recovery closely,” Arteta stated.
On a more positive note, Arteta confirmed that Jurrien Timber has recovered from a serious illness that affected his training throughout the past week. “Jurrien was quite ill for some time, but he has improved significantly over the past few days and is fit for the match,” the manager added.
The Premier League clash between Arsenal and Fulham is scheduled to take place at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday, April 1, with kickoff set for 7:45 p.m.
