Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, has said that President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda has transformed Nigeria’s healthcare sector to the point where cancer treatment can now be effectively handled within the country, according to IReporter Online.

Speaking during a courtesy visit to Enugu State Governor, Mr Peter Mbah, on Thursday, Idris revealed that there are now six advanced cancer treatment facilities across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones — including one in Enugu — equipped with world-class machines and staffed by trained experts.

He stressed that Nigerians who still seek cancer treatment abroad do so out of personal choice, not due to lack of local capacity.

“We must give credit to President Tinubu for appointing the right people to revamp the health sector,” Idris said, adding that the Federal Government’s information team was in Enugu to observe and report the positive strides made under the administration.

The minister also commended Governor Mbah for his development initiatives, describing Enugu as the “heart of the South-East” and noting that Tinubu’s policies have already produced results that could be mistaken for those of a second-term president, according to IReporter Online.

Idris further highlighted that the president’s approach has fostered greater synergy among security agencies, leading to a noticeable improvement in the country’s security landscape.

However, he maintained that the work is far from over, assuring Nigerians that Tinubu will continue to address the nation’s challenges with determination, according to IReporter Online.
