Model College Kankon Clinches Victory At ISEF 2026 Spelling Bee

According to educational observers, Lagos State Model Senior College, Kankon has emerged as the overall winner of the 2026 ISEF Spelling Bee, held on Wednesday in Badagry, Lagos State. The competition, organized by the Isaac Sewanu Educational Foundation (ISEF), brought together students from several senior secondary schools across the region to showcase their spelling skills, vocabulary, and confidence.

The event, hosted at Badagry Grammar School, featured multiple challenging rounds that tested the linguistic abilities of participants. Lagos State Model Senior College, Kankon claimed the top prize, while Ikoga Senior Grammar School finished as first runner-up and Badagry Grammar School Senior secured third place.

Mr. Isaac Sewanu, founder of ISEF, explained that the initiative seeks to encourage students to take their studies seriously while fostering a culture of academic excellence. He emphasized that the competition helps participants build confidence, enhance their vocabulary, and cultivate strong learning habits.

Sewanu further highlighted plans to expand the foundation’s programmes to reach more students across Badagry and to introduce additional initiatives that reward and motivate academic diligence. Teachers, school administrators, and education advocates present at the event praised ISEF for its innovative approach to nurturing young talent, noting the foundation’s growing role in promoting educational empowerment within the community.
