HRH Akpa revealed that the community had been completely deserted as residents fled to neighboring communities like Bagaji Odo, Abejikolo, and Acha out of fear of further attacks.

“The herdsmen are behind the attack at Agojeju-Odo community which led to the death of 25 people. They came in their numbers and started killing people,” the traditional ruler stated, expressing concern over the escalating violence.

Akpa called on the government to intervene urgently to provide security for his people, highlighting the dire situation faced by those who had fled their homes and were contemplating further relocation due to the looming threat posed by the herdsmen.

Survivor Joshua Salifu recounted the harrowing ordeal, describing how the attackers arrived at 3:00 am on Thursday and launched a deadly assault on the community. “About 25 people were buried in our village,” he lamented, emphasizing the urgent need for government assistance in restoring security and enabling the residents to return to their homes and farms.
