In a significant crackdown on illicit drug trade, The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has confiscated over N107 million worth of dangerous drugs from various motor parks and markets across Abuja.

Under the directive of the agency’s Investigation & Enforcement/Federal Task Force Directorate, raids were conducted following intelligence provided by the Department of State Services (DSS). These operations targeted drug hawkers in multiple locations including Area 1 Motor Park, Dunamis Market Garki, Zuba Market, Nyanya Motor Park, and Asokoro over two consecutive days.

The raids resulted in the arrest of 20 suspects and the confiscation of more than 50 units of illegal and hazardous drugs. Among the seized substances were Tramadol 225mg, Rohypnol, Diazepam, Cod Amol, aphrodisiacs, and codeine syrups. The estimated street value of the seized drugs exceeds N107 million.
