NAPTIP Declares Speed Darlington Wanted Over Rape, Cyberbullying Allegations
The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has officially declared popular but controversial Nigerian entertainer, Darlington Okoye, widely known as Speed Darlington, wanted.
In a statement shared on its verified Instagram page @officialnaptip, the agency said the entertainer is being sought in connection with rape, cyberbullying, and cyberstalking allegations.
“Darlington Okoye, aka Speed Darlington, is wanted in connection with alleged offences including rape, cyberbullying, and cyberstalking.
Anyone with credible information on his whereabouts is urged to contact NAPTIP immediately.”
The agency provided a hotline (07030000203) and an email address (info@naptip.gov.ng) for tip-offs from the public.
The action follows Speed Darlington’s failure to honour an earlier invitation by NAPTIP. He had come under fire after boasting during an Instagram live session that he had sexual relations with a 15-year-old girl, a statement which sparked nationwide outrage.
While Speed Darlington has since claimed the comment was “just a prank,” NAPTIP has continued with its investigation and is urging the public to assist in locating him.
Let me know if you’d like a follow-up when he is found or arrested.
