The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has uncovered and intercepted a shipment of illicit psychoactive drugs cleverly disguised as green tea.

The agency’s Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, announced the seizure via a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, June 8, 2025. He cautioned Nigerians to be vigilant, stating that although the packaging suggested a harmless beverage, the true contents could cause severe psychological harm.

“This consignment appears to be green tea on the outside,” Babafemi wrote, “but if you drink it, you may lose your mind. NDLEA operatives discovered psychoactive substances hidden inside.”

The bust was accompanied by a video released by the NDLEA, which revealed the deceptive nature of the packaging and highlighted the agency’s commitment to tackling drug trafficking through unconventional methods.
