The seizure involved two trucks and a J5 bus, with the illicit substances hidden in jumbo bags.

The revelation came from Femi Babafemi, the NDLEA Director of Media and Advocacy, who disclosed the details in a statement on Sunday. The interception took place at the Ojuelegba area of Lagos in the early hours of Sunday, January 28, as the agency’s operatives successfully blocked the three vehicles.

During the operation, two drivers managed to escape, but the third driver, 66-year-old Nasiru Ojomu, employed by the wanted Akala, Mushin-based drug baron, Suleiman Jimoh (alias Olowo Idi Ogede, also known as Temo), was apprehended.

The statement further highlighted the agency’s ongoing efforts in combating drug trafficking, especially linked to the elusive Temo. Despite Temo going into hiding, NDLEA continues its relentless pursuit to bring him to justice.

The NDLEA’s reach extends beyond Lagos, with arrests made in different states. Notably, a male suspect dealing in illicit substances was apprehended in Zaria, Kaduna state. Additionally, significant quantities of the psychoactive substance were confiscated in Kogi, Nasarawa, and Ondo states, showcasing the agency’s commitment to eradicating drug-related activities across the country.
