Nigeria has advanced its campaign to host the 2031 African Games by welcoming an inspection team from the African Union Sports Council (AUSC). The delegation was officially received by the National Sports Commission (NSC) on Wednesday, April 1, as the country intensifies efforts to secure Africa’s premier multi-sport event.

According to Ireporter Online, the NSC described the inspection as a critical stage in the bid, noting that the team is conducting a comprehensive review of sporting facilities, supporting infrastructure, and Nigeria’s overall readiness to host the Games. Technical experts are evaluating venues, logistics, accommodations, transportation networks, and the wider sports ecosystem to ensure compliance with continental hosting standards.
