NYSC Announces June 11 Start Date for 2025 Batch A Stream II Orientation

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has confirmed that the 2025 Batch ‘A’ Stream II orientation course will officially begin across all NYSC camps nationwide on Wednesday, June 11, 2025.

This was disclosed via a countdown timer on the NYSC’s official website. Registration at camps opens the same day and will close at midnight on Friday, June 13, with the official swearing-in ceremony also scheduled for June 13. The orientation programme is expected to run until Tuesday, July 1.

All prospective corps members are expected to report to the designated orientation camps as indicated on their call-up letters. Foreign-trained graduates are required to present international passports and original versions of all previously uploaded credentials.

NYSC emphasized the importance of strict compliance with instructions stated on the call-up letters. For security reasons, corps members have been urged to travel only with transport companies operating from government-approved motor parks and to avoid night journeys. Those who find themselves stranded at night should seek refuge in military barracks, police stations, NYSC secretariats, or corps lodges.

During registration, corps members must present:

• Original call-up letter (online printout or institution-issued)

• Original degree or statement of result

• Valid student ID card

• Medical fitness certificate from a government or military hospital stamped by the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA)

Professionals in regulated fields such as medicine, pharmacy, nursing, and physiotherapy must also present valid registration certificates from their respective bodies.

Additionally, polytechnic and monotechnic graduates must present their National Diploma certificates at the registration point.

The NYSC warned that anyone found presenting forged credentials would be arrested, prosecuted, and disqualified from participating in the scheme.

In cases of a lost call-up letter, a police report and affidavit are required for reissuance. Those who received theirs from institutions must return there for a replacement, while online recipients may reprint from the NYSC portal.

The agency also provided guidance for married, pregnant, or nursing mothers posted outside their spouses’ states. They may report at orientation camps within their current place of residence, provided they submit:

• Marriage certificate

• Valid ID of the husband

• Proof of husband’s residency

The NYSC reiterated that refusal to report or participation under false pretenses is punishable under the NYSC Act.

As the date draws near, prospective corps members are urged to ensure complete documentation, make appropriate travel arrangements, and prepare for what the agency described as a critical foundation for national integration and service.
