One Robber Dead, Two Apprehended As Stolen Vehicle Crashes After Driver Stabbing In Adamawa

In a dramatic turn of events, a gang of robbery suspects met their demise as their stolen getaway vehicle crashed in Adamawa State. According to SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, spokesperson for the Adamawa State Police Command, the suspects—identified as Umar Faruq and Al Amin Adamu—alongside an accomplice, embarked on a journey from Jalingo, Taraba State to Yola.

However, their plans took a violent turn when, between Mayo-Belwa and Ngurore town, they assaulted the driver, Muhammed Suleiman, with a knife, leaving him with severe injuries. Subsequently, they robbed him of his vehicle and attempted to flee the scene.

Tragically, the suspects’ escape came to an abrupt end as their stolen vehicle crashed a few kilometers away from the crime scene. The collision resulted in the death of one suspect and the arrest of the remaining two.

The Adamawa State Police Command, in collaboration with stakeholders, swiftly responded to the incident, leading to the apprehension of Faruq and Adamu for various offenses, including criminal conspiracy, culpable homicide, and armed robbery.

CP Dankombo Morris Falling PSC (+), the Commissioner of Police for Adamawa State, commended the efforts of the Ngurore Divisional Police Officer and other responders for their timely intervention. He assured that the arrested suspects would face prosecution for their alleged crimes.

This incident serves as a reminder of the relentless efforts by law enforcement agencies to combat violent crimes and ensure the safety and security of residents in Adamawa State.
