“Osun APC Grieves As Party Chieftain Odewumi Passes On”
Osun APC Mourns Sudden Death of Party Chieftain, Olubisi Odewumi
The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed deep shock over the sudden death of one of its prominent leaders in Ife-North Local Government Area, Honourable Olubisi Odewumi, describing the loss as both tragic and irreplaceable, according to iReporter Online.
In a statement issued on Thursday by the party’s Director of Media and Information, Kola Olabisi, the state chairman, Tajudeen Lawal, described Odewumi’s passing as a colossal blow to the party’s structure and morale.
He noted that it would be difficult to find someone with such unwavering commitment to the APC in his constituency, which he zealously protected and served.
According to iReporter Online, Lawal paid tribute to the late chieftain, calling him a core loyalist and dependable team player whose contributions to the party spanned years of unflinching dedication.
“Rain or shine, he was always available to give his all for the advancement of our party,” he said.
He further reflected on Odewumi’s political journey, describing it as a life well spent in service and achievement.
“Even though he died in his prime, Honourable Odewumi lived a purposeful life and left a legacy that will inspire generations within our party,” Lawal added.
He likened life to a marketplace where each individual eventually returns home at the end of their journey.
“The sudden death of Honourable Bisi Odewumi earlier today shook all of us in the APC family,” Lawal remarked.
“His vast political experience is a great loss to us, especially at a time when his wisdom was most needed.”
According to iReporter Online, Odewumi served as a former Special Adviser on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs during the Rauf Aregbesola administration and was reportedly receiving treatment at the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, before his passing on Thursday morning.
While praying for strength for Odewumi’s widow, children, and political associates, Lawal emphasized that though the loss is deeply painful, the party remains grateful for the life he lived.
According to iReporter Online, members of the APC across Osun State have joined in mourning the late political stalwart, especially in his hometown of Ashipa, where he was regarded as a true grassroots mobiliser and respected leader.
