Outrage in Edo North: Youth Group Exposes Obaseki’s 4.5 Billion Naira Scam—Demands Immediate Accountability
Edo North— In a dramatic revelation today, the Edo North Youth Alliance (ENYA) has launched a scathing attack on Governor Godwin Obaseki, accusing him of massive mismanagement of state funds. The group is calling for urgent accountability over the 4.5 billion Naira earmarked for the Aviele Trailer Park project in Etsako West Local Government Area—a project that has seen no significant expenditure to date.
ENYA’s statement comes amidst growing frustration among Edo North residents, who have watched as the promised development has stalled. Despite the allocation of billions of Naira, the Aviele Trailer Park remains a neglected site with no visible progress.
“This isn’t just mismanagement; it’s outright theft,” declared Ahmed Waziri, spokesperson for ENYA. “Obaseki has promised a state-of-the-art trailer park, but instead, we have a ghost project. The 4.5 billion Naira meant to uplift our community has evaporated into thin air, leaving us with nothing but empty promises.”
Adding to the outrage, ENYA has raised alarming concerns that the funds may have been diverted to finance the PDP’s campaign for the upcoming September 21st election. The group describes this potential misuse of public resources as a deliberate attempt to manipulate the electoral process while depriving Edo North of vital infrastructure.
“This scandal is a betrayal of epic proportions,” Waziri continued. “Our development funds are being siphoned off for political gain. This isn’t just a misuse of funds—it’s a blatant act of exploitation and corruption.”
ENYA is calling for a comprehensive investigation into the financial management of the Aviele Trailer Park project and is mobilizing Edo North residents to demand justice. The group insists that Governor Obaseki must be held accountable for his administration’s failure to deliver on its promises and for any possible financial misconduct.
