According to Ireporter Online, the Founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, Bishop David Oyedepo, has recounted a startling experience from 1987 in Kaduna, alleging that an unidentified group attempted to frame him by planting marijuana in his vehicle. The cleric shared the account in a video that surfaced online on Tuesday while addressing members of his congregation.

Oyedepo explained that the discovery was made through what he described as divine intervention, crediting his former driver, Clifford, who had just returned from Katsina and insisted on washing the car that morning. While cleaning, Clifford removed one of the seats and uncovered a freshly wrapped substance hidden underneath.

The bishop, who said he had never seen marijuana before that moment, recalled Clifford approaching him in fear and explaining that the substance resembled what his wife grew behind their home. The driver referred to the item as “wee-wee,” a term Oyedepo said was entirely unfamiliar to him.

He narrated that the seriousness of the incident became evident later that same evening when police officers stopped his vehicle and demanded to conduct a search. According to him, the officers went directly to the exact spot where the substance had been planted, a move that suggested they were aware of its placement.

Oyedepo said he confronted the officers, expressing disappointment before one of them offered an apology. He described the episode as an example of how easily innocent people could be implicated in criminal situations.

Reflecting on the incident, the cleric emphasized his belief in divine preservation, noting that many individuals are unjustly imprisoned due to the actions of malicious actors. He prayed that none of his followers would ever encounter such schemes.

The bishop concluded by revisiting the moment he embraced Christianity as a young boy in 1969, attributing his spiritual foundation to the influence of a compassionate teacher whose guidance, he said, changed the course of his life.
