PDP Vs PDP: The Latest On The Suspension Crisis In Edo (See Communique)
The Peoples Democratic Party has nullified the purported suspension of its South-South National Vice Chairman, Chief Dan Orbih and other officers describing it as “illegal and unconstitutional.”
The decision came barely four days after Justice O. Adeniyi of the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Abuja restrained the party from removing Orbih following a motion ex parte moved by his counsel, Godwin Obla SAN.
The PDP in Edo North Senatorial Zone in a communique issued after its quarterly meeting at the country residence of High Chief Raymond Dokpesi in Agenebode, on Saturday said, “the perpetrators of the illegal suspension will be identified and disciplinary measures shall be imposed on them.”

According to the communique signed by the Edo North PDP Assistant Secretary, Baba Idenobemhe and obtained by journalists in Abuja on Sunday, the meeting was attended by Orbih, Dokpesi, State Secretary, Chief Hillary Otsu, State Auditor, Dr Wilson Imongan, all the local government and ward chairmen from the zone, as well as two leaders representing each ward.
The communique reads, “That the PDP, Edo North and Edo State PDP remain committed to a strong and indivisible party.
“That all hands must be on deck to work towards a successful national convention coming up in Abuja in a few weeks.
“That the purported suspension of the National Vice Chairman, Chief Dan Orbih, State Secretary, Chief Hillary Otsu, Senatorial (District) chairman, Hon Segun Saiki and five chairmen from the zone is illegal, unconstitutional and is condemned in its entirety.
“That the tenets and constitution of the PDP shall be upheld at all times in all party activities, especially with regards to the illegal meetings being held in some constituencies claiming to “harmonize” LGA and ward Excos.
“It was noted that if Chief Dan Orbih was originally involved in the negotiations for Governor (Godwin) Obaseki’s adoption, the process would have been better managed and the current imbroglio would have been averted.
“That the perpetrators of the illegal suspension will be identified and disciplinary measures shall be imposed on them.”
