According to Yunusa Tanko, the Chief Spokesman of the Obi-Datti Presidential Campaign Organisation, Peter Obi has taken steps to address the crisis by engaging with members of the House of Representatives and the party’s leadership. Tanko revealed that Obi traveled to Asaba, the Delta State capital, to hold discussions with the LP’s National Working Committee (NWC) and party leaders.

Tanko highlighted that Obi advocated for a thorough review of the situation and suggested postponing the contentious national convention to allow for broader consultations among concerned parties. Tanko emphasized Obi’s commitment to ensuring that the right actions are taken to resolve the crisis amicably.

Furthermore, Obiora Ifoh, the National Publicity Secretary of the LP, confirmed Obi’s efforts to mediate privately between the conflicting parties and find common ground.

As the LP grapples with internal strife, Obi’s intervention underscores the importance of dialogue and consultation in resolving disputes within the party. While the outcome of these discussions remains pending, Obi’s proactive involvement signals a concerted effort towards reconciliation and stability within the Labour Party.
