Police Nab Three Suspected Car And Motorcycle Snatchers In Kebbi

The arrests were carried out on December 28 and 29, 2025, during routine patrols and intelligence-driven operations aimed at reducing criminal activities within the state.

Police authorities disclosed that operatives attached to the Ambursa Division apprehended two suspects, identified as Hamza Shehu, aged 30, and Musa Shehu Manga, aged 49, along the Ambursa–Gulumbe Road. The suspects were reportedly arrested while attempting to dispossess a commercial motorcyclist of an unregistered Bajaj motorcycle, which was later recovered by the operatives. One of their alleged accomplices, known as Chika Boss, was said to have escaped and remains at large.

In a separate operation, another suspect, Ibrahim Sule, was intercepted on December 29 while allegedly attempting to move a stolen silver Toyota Corolla LE. Preliminary investigations revealed that the vehicle was taken after the owner was rendered unconscious during a journey, following the alleged introduction of a substance into his drink without his knowledge.

The stolen vehicle was subsequently recovered, while another suspect believed to be connected to the crime is still being sought by the police.

The Kebbi State Police Command assured residents that efforts are being intensified to apprehend all fleeing suspects and ensure they are brought to justice. Authorities also confirmed that those currently in custody would be charged to court upon the completion of investigations.

Residents were urged to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious movements or activities to the nearest police station, as the command reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding lives and property through sustained patrols and intelligence-led policing across the state.
